These two girls are owned by Don and Rosa Politte of West Des Moines, Iowa. Born and raised right here in our home.

I am a small home breeder who genuinely loves raising quality puppies for humans to love and cherish for many years. I have been raising Shih Tzu puppies for the last 20 years. My love affair started with the purchase of my first Shih Tzu, Shayla the year I graduated from high school. I happened to be in a pet store and met the love of my life in the form of a little 4 pound Shih Tzu female. I litterally took all of my high school graduation money and purchased this gorgeous little puppy. After having my beloved Shayla for 4 years, I decided she needed a canine companion to fill her time while I was at work. Enter Sherlock..... Shayla and Sherlock had 2 litters of puppies together before we lost Shayla at the tender age of 10. Sherlock passed last year at the age of 20. From then on, I have always been graced with the presence of at least 2 Shih Tzu in my home. I now proudly reside with 12 beautiful Shih Tzu.

I have gotten involved in rescue cases with our local vet clinic. I take great pride in helping fur babies who have had horrible lives. I teach them to socialize with humans, how to live in a home, how to play, accept dogs treats, how to potty outside and how to give love in return. As a result of the rescues I have done, I also have fallen in love with two other breeds.

My beloved Prada was my first Yorkie. She was a puppy that one of my neighbors purchased and then decided they were not ready for a puppy. They contacted me and I intended to find her a forever home, and low and behold it became my home. I now proudly have added 4 other Yorkies to my home and heart. We do have Yorkie babies from time to time.

We also have some beautiful Japanese Chins. My Chin girls are Sushi, Saki and Yabba. Again, this was a rescue situation and again, I fell in love, and the rest is history. We also have Chin puppies from time to time.

These dogs are my passion and I want to share it with anyone willing to open their hearts and homes to one of my fabulous fur babies. I continue to perform rescues as necessary and so from time to time, I will also have adult dogs or older puppies available for adoption.

All of our puppies come with their first set of shots, de-worming, vet check and a one-year health guarantee. All of our puppies can be registered with AKC or APRI. All puppies are sold with papers are sold with limited registration and a written guarantee. We have made the decision to place primarily to pet homes, as we do not allow the breeding of our puppies. They were bred to be a best friend and life-time companion. On rare occasions, I will sell one with full registration, but only to approved homes with vet references, and for an additional fee. I have worked really hard to obtain my genetics and to ensure that none of my babies spend their lives in cages mass-producing for someone who does not LOVE and care for them as they should.

In these hard economic times, people still need pets and pets still need people. As a result, we have started offering a discount if you do not want the registration papers on your puppy. This is a way to save me some expense and therefore, to pass that savings on to you.
